Hello, I have a DS9208 barcode scanner. When using the 'USB - HID Keyboard' mode the scan output I get does NOT contain NULL characters (x00)For example, I get the following output in hex codes '41 41 41 42 42 42' (AAABBB)Whereas in 'USB - SNAPI' mode the output is '41 41 41 00 00 42 42 42 00 00' (AAA BBB ) which is exactly what I need. The problem is that I need to use the HID mode!I can understand the keyboard emulator does NOT emulate NULLs by default. But is there a way to create an ADF rule using the 123Scan2 tool that would convert NULLs to -let's say- spaces? (x20). to post comments.
Keyboard Input Bar Code Scanners. Worth Data USB Keyboard Readers allow the user to enter scanned bar code data into any application as if the data was being keyed in by the user. There are no software changes necessary to use this kind of bar code reader and the USB interface readers can be used on either a Windows® PC or a Mac.

Pos Devices - Barcode ScannersBarcode ScannersBarcode Scanners can be either Serial, USB-Serial, USB-HID, Keyboard Wedge or OPOS.SerialSerial barcode scanners plug into the serial / COM port of your computer. Many new computers do not have COM Ports or only have one COM port. There is often a separate power supply that is required. To Configure System Five for a serial device, open the Windward Point of Sale Device Manager in the Windows Tooltray usually in the bottom right of your screen. Select the Barcode Scanner Tab, select the Port Settings text and Set the Baud rate to 9600, No Parity, 8 Data Bits. If the port settings show in RED, this means that the Point of Sale Device Manager was un-able to open the COM Port. Either the port does not exist, or some other device is already using it.

Check the other POS device tabs to ensure that no other device is also set to your chosen serial port.No configuring of the scanner should be required. The advantage of the serial port scanner is that there is never any confusion between a keyboard number input and a barcode scan.USB-SerialThis type of scanner will have a USB connection, but will include a software device driver that will emulate a serial port. Power should be derived from the USB port.To Configure System Five for a serial device, open the Windward Point of Sale Device Manager in the Windows Tooltray usually in the bottom right of your screen.
